I developed this recipe, using Gina Neely's dry rub recipe as a base, then adjusting the ingredients to fit what I had onhand and adding McCormick's Hickory Smoked Salt for added flavor. This isn't a very spicy mixture, it's actually kind of sweet. If you want it spicier, add more cayenne pepper. Hickory Flavored Dry Rub1 1/2 cups paprika 3/4 cup sugar 3 tablespoons onion powder 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon hickory smoked salt 1 tablespoon celery salt 1 tablespoon black pepper 1 tablespoon lemon pepper 1 teaspoon mustard powder 1 teaspoon cayenne 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme In a bowl combine all the dry ingredients and blend well.
