I'm going to try making this with plain water, instead of club soda. I know it won't be fizzy, but I might like it better that way.

I'm not familiar with how club soda, but I use seltzer a lot (I love the bubbles, it's a weakness!). But I know in seltzer, the bubbles actually are tart (CO2 tastes tart, who knew). If the base is too sweet when you dilute it, you might try it without the added sweetener.

I'm sorry! The recipe is pretty good. It's not quite cola, but it's close in flavor. I'm not wild about pop, so it works fine for me.

Interesting, Gayle. I wonder if either recipe would work with using vitamin c and baking soda? I never have club soda around and that kind of defeats the purpose of DIY.

Is there any other way to make it fizzy besides baking soda? That tastes salty to me.

Dolomite? It fizzes but is hard to dissolve and may leave white flecks on the foam.

Well the coffee/tea one didn't taste at all like cola to me. Haven't tried the other yet.
