Chop 2-3 oz fresh ginger and boil for 30-60 min in 3 pts of water. Cool and strain. Add 3 qts of water, sugar (or stevia) to taste, 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice, 3-4 tablespoons of orange or grapefruit juice (more if you like) and 2 tsp of ascorbic acid powder. Chill, covered. When ready to drink it pour in a glass and add 1/4 tsp baking soda and some ice. Don't add the soda till just as you are serving since the fizz doesn't last a very long time. The bit of salt in the soda improves the flavor, IMHO and helps with electrolytes.

Thanks for posting! Dave loves that Canada Dry green tea ginger ale. I think I might be able to duplicate it by swapping green tea for the 3 qts of water. Yay!
