This is my favorite hot dog chili recipe. It is awesome on Boar's Head hot dogs with a natural casing.
2 lbs ground chuck
1 lb ground hot Italian sausage (sweet if preferred)
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 cup finely chopped sweet onion
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 beef bouillon cubes
6 cups water
1 1/2 tablespoon kitchen bouquet
put it all in a 3 qt saucepan on medium and stir frequently. it takes almost 2 hours to be a nice consistency.
DON'T BROWN THE MEAT, or it won't break down into a fine consistency.
