Caramel Sauce
1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 1/2 t. salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Place brown sugar, butter, cream, and salt in a medium sauce pan. Cook over a medium heat, stirring frequently, until it reaches a boil.
Cover and boil for 1 minute.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve over ice-cream or dip apples in it.
Store in jar in refrigerator up to 2 weeks. (if it lasts that long!)
Makes 1 3/4 cup.

I made a batch of this today and just finished having some with a bowl of ice cream (or having some ice cream with a bowl of sauce, however you want to look at it) It is SO GOOD!!! Maybe next time I'll leave off the ice cream.
