When I had Mom, 2 sisters, a niece and Bethany living with me I put a dry erase board next to the phone for messages. I like this idea too.

I like that you can make it match the room it's in.

and you could save even more time with the menu board by putting permanent letters for "leftovers" every other day -

Yay! Another use for all that scrapbook paper! These would make good gifts, too, if you made them to match other people's rooms. I really like this idea, and you're right. I would have never thought of writing on a picture frame glass!

You could use leftover fabric or wrapping paper, too. In fact, you could change out the background with the holiday or season, if you wanted to.
I have to make curtains for my bedroom. I'm thinking about making one to match. Heaven knows I have plenty of picture frames. The rain after the tornado wrecked a lot of pictures, although the frames are still good.

Now I have an idea of something I can make for Christy and Wayne. She's always making lists for herself. Susan

Does anyone know whether dry erase markers will easily wipe off of plexi-glass or plastic? These would be fun to take in the car for children to draw on and many of the really cheap frames have plastic rather than glass.

Does anyone know whether dry erase markers will easily wipe off of plexi-glass or plastic? experiment - try it on an edge hidden by the frame to see - maybe some plastics work and others not ?

If a dry erase won't work with plastic, try a grease pencil (if you can find them). They're a bit messy, but wipe off easily - on both glass and plastic.

Do any of you have any suggestions for keeping one of these from falling off the wall when it's been used a few times? My experience with picture frames has been Don't Touch Them!

Valerie, I don't know what it's called exactly, but they make this clay stuff to keep things from rattling off shelves. It doesn't leave marks on walls. I usually put a dab of it behind the corners of pictures in high-traffic areas. It holds pretty good. I can't remember if I got it at the dollar store or at Walmart.

double bubble ?[/quote] Hahaha Walmart carries the stuff you are talking about, Gayle, although Double bubble would probably work... You have to hang the frame on a nail first, though, you can't just stick it up on the wall with the clay.
