This is the coolest thing ever! Plug in your zip code and it will give you the dates for first & last frost in your area, according to the climate centers near you! Cool! davesgarden.com/guides/freeze-frost-dates/

This has to be a sticky!
They've changed our dates. Our last frost has been moved up a whole month!
Each winter, on average, your risk of frost is from October 22 through April 18.
Almost certainly, however, you will receive frost from November 7 through March 30.
You are almost guaranteed that you will not get frost from May 8 through October 4.
Your frost-free growing season is around 187 days.

Dang, ours was like 263 days or something crazy like that!
If you go on johnnysseeds.com, in the column on the right, there is a link to an Excel file that will give you fall planting dates. It's got formulas in the cells, so when you plug in your first frost date, it calculates for each plant when you need to plant it. It specifies by transplant or direct seed, and also allows for slower growth in the fall. Way awesome! Tells me I better crack-a-lack on getting my fall seeds and getting the broccoli, cabbage, and collards started!

It has my fall frost date at October 21 and I've seen frost here by the 15th. I'm already expecting to have to cover my sweet potatoes so I can keep them going longer. I think I'm going to print that page out and put it in my garden binder.
