Don't worry too much about the fish. If it's been more than 3 minutes, they've probably forgotten about it anyway.
Maybe, the next time you sub in his class, you can have a class discussion about respecting other people's property.

Yeah, the fish are fine. I'm glad there's no truth to that thing about fish eating until they die if they have too much food.

It mostly fouls the water if food is dumped in. I went out of town once and left mother to care for my beautiful aquarium that I had worked so hard on. I was gone 1 week and when I came back the fish were all dead and the whole thing stinking nasty. I cried as I dumped it out. I never tried to have one again.

Oh that's sad. So I guess it really can kill them, but not from overeating. I think the extra food does raise the ammonia level. I'm going easy on their grub today, just in case.

We've bought them from "The Mart" before as well.
Are there any updated pics??

Yeah, we used them when we had an aquarium when the kids were little. We used one when we went out of town so nobody would have to feed the fish. Actually I like the act of feeding the fish and watching them come up and nibble. I think they like me. M, I'll try to take some more pics today, if I remember.

I understand that, Valerie. I'm the same way about feeding the chickens. It's not a chore (except when it's pouring or we're up to our butts in snow)

Me too. I like tending the chickens except when mud is squelching up through the toe piece of my flip flops.

I usually wear crocs. I've had to empty mud and water out of them many times. I think I'm going to start keeping a dishpan full of water on the porch for rinsing feet and shoes, now that the weather is warming up.

I keep a mesh bag of soap pieces by the outside faucet for scrubbing my feet off. I always forget some kind of rag or towel, though, so by time I get to the door I have stuff on my feet again.

Hmmmm... that's not a bad idea! When I order some gravel I might put some down between the faucet and back door. That will give me a non-muddy surface to walk on to get to the house. That door opens into the laundry room. I can keep a towel there.

OK, as promised, here are some current pics, taken today. This is a good one of the three fish. I had to turn off the air so y'all could see them. Here's what I'm thinking of naming them: The spotted one -- Lancelot The large darker orange one -- Arthur The smaller lighter orange one -- Guinevere Here are the fish again: You can see that wonderful bacterial film on everything. There's also some rock dust and some settled out rust from our lovely water. Here are some of the plants: The radishes are growing like crazy. There are also some cukes sprouted that you probably can't see. They're pretty small yet. Also dill, oregano, cilantro, a tomato that's coming along nicely, and a small banana pepper.

That is cool!
Didn't Lancelot and Guinevere have an affair while Arthur was gone somewhere?
