Cheddar Cheese Bread
1 cup milk, scalded 3/4 cup Ranch dressing 1/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 t. salt 2 T. butter or margarine 2 envelopes (or 2 scant T.) yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water 2 1/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese (9 oz) 6 cups flour
Mix scalded milk, Ranch dressing, sugar, salt, and butter or margarine and cool to lukewarm. Stir in dissolved yeast.
Add cheese and flour, cup by cup, to form a firm dough. Knead well.
Put into a greased bowl and let rise until double.
Punch down dough and knead lightly.
Shape into 2 loaves and put into greased loaf pans. Let rise until double.
Bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees.
Brush with butter or margarine.
Variation:
If desired, bacon bits can be kneaded in before first rising.
