Breakfast Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream Who doesn't want ice cream for breakfast?
1 cup heavy whipping cream 1 cup yogurt sugar 1 t. vanilla add-ins (see below)
Whip cream until thick. Beat in vanilla and sugar to taste. Stir yogurt and fold into whipped cream. Add more sugar if needed.
Layer in freezer container with add-ins of your choice. Freeze until firm.
Serve by the scoop for breakfast, either in a bowl or waffle cone. Makes 2-3 servings.
Add-Ins
cereal fruit syrup nuts marshmallows jello
I made 2 batches of this today. One has layers of yogurt, maple syrup and Grape Nuts. The other has layers of yogurt with a sprinkling of jello (I used 5 flavors, a different one on each layer) and Fruity Pebbles cereal. I have a ton of other ideas.

Although it tasted good, the original recipe came out a little too hard so I'm trying it again with more whipped cream (2 cups of cream and 1 cup of yogurt)
This time I added fruit (bananas) and Cap'n Crunch

Gayle, with that much cream how does it do on your tummy? Does the yogurt kind of counteract the lactose?

It hasn't bothered me, but it turns out I don't have a problem with dairy anyway. I suspect it would bother someone who was lactose intolerant.
Even with all the cream, you still get the benefits of the yogurt cultures. I found out that freezing them doesn't hurt them, but cooking them does (kind of like yeast)
btw, the one with twice the cream turned out a lot creamier. The Cap'n Crunch tastes like Cap'n Crunch flavored marshmallows and the bananas are a nice touch.
