I've already told you about my forsythias blooming now, but there are other things wrong with the plants. The bee balm, which usually blooms one good time and one light one, has bloomed 7 times this year, all heavy blooms. Yesterday, I noticed the asparagus was sending out new shoots and, this morning, I see the hostas, which have never bloomed other than in late spring, are sending up blossom stems, covered in buds. This isn't normal!
Anyone else seeing strange goings-on with the plants?

No, aside from the fact that many never bloomed at all this yr due to drought.

you know, gayle, you and i don't live that distant from each other - my forsythias are dark green with a lot of new growth and no blossoms ? in the woods i have noticed that there a lot more dead trees than ever before - and not just young saplings but mature trees nearly 80 feet tall - ?

Our pecan did something weird. It got leaves in the spring like normal, but then lost all the leaves and nuts in early August. Now it has a whole new batch of leaves, which it'll lose in a month or so. I think maybe all the water stressed it and made it lose its leaves. I didn't expect it to get a whole new crop though.

I'm seeing it here, too. Some of my spring bulbs are flowering. Not all, but some. They think it's April.

Last evening, I was locking up the chickens and noticed poke blooming. Some of it has already dropped its berries, but some think it's spring.
The hostas are in full bloom now.
Doesn't the Bible say something about this?

Doesn't the Bible say something about this? guess i'll need to go through the old testament - could not find one word in the new testament about plants in possum hollow -

I found a few more late-blooming flowers today and took these pictures. These aren't the best pictures, but, if you look closely, you can see the flowers. A violet~ Hosta~ Dandelions (they got ran over, but you can still see what's left of the blooms)~ White clovers~ Forsythia~ And, tonight, it's snowing.

See for us, that's not a big thing, seeing flowers this late. We get flowers in the spring, then in the summer stuff just tries to stay alive. One of the good things about when the heat breaks is that all the plants start blooming again!

I would expect this if the weather had turned cold, then warmed back up, but it was hot and has gradually cooled. I took these yesterday and it snowed last night. The flowers are still hanging on, although they have freeze damage. This is seriously abnormal for here.
