Homemade Breakfast Cereal 4 cups rolled oats 2 cups puffed rice 2 cups rolled barley 1 cup wheat bran 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 cup almonds, roughly chopped ½ cup butter, melted ½ cup honey 4 teaspoons vanilla extract In a large bowl, mix together oats, rice, barley, wheat bran, sunflower seeds, salt, cinnamon and almonds.In a smaller bowl, mix together melted butter, honey and vanilla extract into a well-blended syrup. Pour syrup mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is completely coated. Spread onto two parchment paper covered baking sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes. Stir half way through. (It will smell wonderful!)When cool, add raisins and dates.Store in an air-tight container; it should last around three weeks. Try it on top of yogurt or in a big bowl with milk. Very tasty!
