Is the lavender oil only there for the scent or does it have some antibacterial properties? I can't abide the smell of it.

I think it's just for scent. She also uses rosemary (I think) and recommends clove EO or lime EO for men, so they don't smell flowery. Dave doesn't know he's using his with lavender, but really I can't smell it on him after the first minute or two.

I'd be catching a whiff of pee all day because that's how it smells to me. I think I'd use patchouli.

Thanks for posting Val!
I just remembered one of the reasons the homemade didn't go so well when I tried the recipe I had. I had to keep it in the fridge. 1) That's cold! 2) That seemed gross 3) I just couldn't get behind putting on deodorant in the kitchen! lol

LOL, M! No, this doesn't have to go in the fridge. Not to say it feels warm going on when it's 65 in the house, but at least it's not 40 and you can dress in privacy. And the beeswax seems to hold it together better than some recipes I've tried, so it doesn't make crumbles all over the floor. And you don't have to wait for it to dry to put your shirt on.
