Hey y'all, I've never grown garlic before, so tell me if this is normal, please.
Most of mine (in the aquaponic bed) are growing pretty good. There are a few who got too much shade when that crazy tomato was in there, but they're starting to pick up steam now. Anyway, the "leaves" (I don't know really what you call the greens) are real long, like about 18", but they grow up about 6 - 8" and then flop over. They are all over the ground. Is this the way they're supposed to do, or do they usually grow more "up" like an onion?

They do fall over. That's when I usually pick them or divide them if I'm not going to leave them till next year.

I don't think they're ready for that yet. They've only been in the ground a couple of months.

Just let them go. They are probably fine, as long as they're green. Mine usually end up a tangle of leaves (or whatever they're called) all over the ground. It doesn't seem to hurt them.

OK, that's how mine are. Very green and very long, just all over the place. It doesn't bother me, I just didn't know if it was normal.
