This week our IGA had tuna for 50¢ a can and peanut butter 2/$3. I bought a case of each.
Are you getting any good deals?

Yeah, for some reason beef is under $2 a lb. Not ground beef but I bought up a bunch of chuck roasts to grind and can. I think I'm goin to dry the sirloin roast instead of can it. The only dried beef I have is rocks. There was one little fellow at the farmers mkt. He had tomatoes from Fl. They arent as good as home grown but way better than store boughten. He also talked me into a 25 lb bag of pecans in the shell for $14. Dont know if thats a good price but the nuts are real good. Tonight I'm goin to shell out enough to make a pie.

Sounds like a real good deal on the pecans. In-shell pecans are $4 a pound here. Going by that price, you saved $86! And the in-shell nuts will store longer, too. Good deal!

I forgot all about this thread. I like hearing what deals others are getting, too, so I made this a sticky.
I haven't had a chance to read our sale paper yet, but I'll post if they have anything good.

Good idea. Nothin is on sale here. Sugar is 2.00 for 4lbs so next week I'm goin to get some more but unless they put some kind of meat on sale I'm not goin to do any stocking up this week. The farmers mkt is opening so I'll go there and see what they have this early.

I passed a farmers' market last week. They had oranges for sale! I'm pretty sure they didn't grow those around here! I didn't stop.

IGA's store brand is on sale for $1.38/5 lbs this week. If they have all-purpose, I'll get as much as I can. I might even call them tomorrow and order some, if I remember. The manager said that he doesn't sell much AP flour, so he mostly gets self-rising, but he has ordered it for me in the past.

This week our IGA had tuna for 50¢ a can and peanut butter 2/$3. I bought a case of each. Are you getting any good deals? I can only dream of 2 peanut butter for 3$ ... sigh... If I want JIF we pay 9.39 Euros (about 12$) per 40 ounce jar and the German stuff is not even worth it and 8 ounces of that is about 4 $... .

The price you have to pay is shocking but I have a feeling we will be seeing that before the end of next year. Hope I'm wrong but the way its goin I'm thinking it will be that bad here.

I agree. That's why I'm stocking up now, while I'm getting good sales. It's like money in the bank.
