DH came home for the week and headed out again this morning, so I haven't been on here all week. Boy am I behind, I think theres like 10 pages of recipes I need to look through, LOL
This house cleaning out stuff is for the birds, we still haven't figured out where we are going to be living, or where the animals are going, or even if we are going to sell the house here. We had a realtor out on Tuesday and he thinks the price we have set for our place is too high, I don't think it's too high I think the problem is with the acreage, anyone looking to buy ours has to have a big down payment to be able to get financing because of it.
Have you ever had one of those times when you just don't know what to do? Sorry for the thread drift, but it is what I was doin' today. LOL

Shelby, we spent a whole year and a half trying to figure out what we wanted to do and where we wanted to move, then it all changed in the blink of an eye. We were, originally, going to move to South Dakota, but as soon as I saw this place, I was home.
Maybe, someday, when we hit the lottery, we'll buy a summer place in South Dakota.

Things may be coming together after all I went to an auction yesterday and bought a livestock trailer for hauling the animals. Spent all day there in the cold and wind, BRRRR, but got a really good deal. Today we started going through more stuff in the house and DH is going to talk to a guy tonight about a house for lease with the option to buy, that is in the area that we are looking to live. Apparently him and the fellow have alot in common and hopefully everything will be good to go, one of the downfalls is that they want a $200 deposit for each animal including horses and dogs, but it will be returned to us when we purchase,

DH did get the house and the $200 deposit per animal was waved. We have one more week to go before we leave but we are exhausted. The kids have more clothes than I thought they did, We ended up going through them and got rid of a bunch to family members with kids the same size and still ended up doing something like 25 loads of laundry, Not including the blankets and bed clothes . The realtor is coming out this week to get our house up on the market, DH isn't going to be able to come home so it is all up to us and our hired man, (DH's future driver) to get everything else ready to go. The 27 foot camper that we are also taking is really getting packed to the gills, I don't think it will have any empty space left by the time we're done. DH's best friend is going to be bringing it to us a week after we leave so we have had to take a few things back out that we will need right away like blankets and towels. DH only has 4 and there will be 8 of us, so we'll need them. LOL DH and the other fellow (great guy) can't wait till we get there cause they are tired of cooking for them selves. And weeding the rose bushes. With them working anywhere from 10 to 15 hours a day they are wooped by the time they get home. Anywho, That's what we are doing and I can't wait till it is over. Although my nerves are starting to try to get the best of me. 8 days till we leave,

Things got a little crazy here yesterday. I was going to go to town to do a little shopping, but I'd read on another forum that Tractor Supply Company had live chicks, so I called the one closest to me to find out when they were expecting them. The lady told me that they already had some, so I went to Morehead (an hour away) to look at them.
When I got there, they had chicks, ducklings, and Bantam chicks. I ended up buying 10 chicks, 4 banties, and 3 ducks. I don't know what kind any of them are, but they're cute. Hopefully, they'll be out of the brooder before my chick order (50 leghorns) come next month.
On my way home, I saw a greenhouse, so I stopped to take a look. They had 2 big greenhouses full of plants, but weren't really ready to sell most of them yet. They said most of the plants will be ready in about 2 weeks. I ended up buying 2 dark purple elephant ears and 5 light purple Cleomes (aka Spider Flowers). I like Cleomes, they remind me of my grandma. She usually had a few. I like to watch all the bumblebees that are attracted to them. I'm hoping they attract some hummingbirds, too. They often share the same plants.
Then I stopped by the feed store and bought a bag of Game Bird Starter, so I'd have something to feed the chicks and ducks. Then I went home to set up the brooder. You should have seen those ducks when I put the water in there! They made a huge mess and we laughed ourselves sick!
After we got the chicks and ducks settled, we had to go back to town because I still hadn't paid my bills or grocery shopped. It was around 3:30 when we finally got home and I still had to put away the groceries and fix supper.
Today I'm resting.

I didnt know elephant ears came in colors. I've only seen the green ones. Paul loves the things. As soon as I get the climbing rose out of my flower box in the front I'm goin to plant some of them and some coladiums(sp) they look like little elephant ears. I've been cleaning up messes all day. First the dog had diarrhea and had to have a bath. The floors had to be mopped. Then Michael made a mess in the bathroom and paul stepped in it. Later he tipped over his snuff cup. . I hope all this cleaning doesnt make myback go out again. I've been sitting on a heating pad for 3 days. Tamie wants to take the girls on a couple of short day trips while they are off for Spring Break. I'm just trying to get the "usual" messes cleaned up from not being able to do housework for 3 days. My Abbey girl was 4 this week. Just seems like a few days ago I was hurrying over here to see her born. I guess time DOES fly when you are having fun. I'm determined to do some container gardening this year. With the fence around the front yard I can line up some tree tubs close enough for me to water. I reckon I'd better get back to work before somebody else makes a mess. I hope you are rested from your day the other day. Made me tired reading it

Peggy, I didn't know elephant ears came in colors, either. So, when I saw these, I had to have a couple of them! The new growth is green, but turns dark purple before long. Really pretty!
I just about bit off more than I could chew today. I was gung-ho when I woke up this morning, so I stripped all the beds, gathered the coats we weren't still wearing, and took off all the extra blankets. I already had about 4 or 5 loads of dirty clothes, so I ended up with a LOT of laundry! It took me 8 hours to get it all done, but it's done now - FINALLY!
After the first load was in the washer, I went and fed the chickens and let them out (into the run). They're always so happy to see me because I pick green weeds for them. So, of course, I couldn't disappoint the little beggers.
As soon as I had my second load in the washer, I thought it would be good to have some hard-boiled eggs for egg salad, so I started those. Then I cleaned most of the house. Tim is sick today, so I tried to do half of the cleaning and let Doug and Belinda do the rest.
While they were finishing up, I made a batch of dough for tortillas. The other day, when I cooked the pork loin, I cut off the part that has marbling and minced it in the food processor. It's like ground pork. Then I cooked it with taco seasoning and put it in the fridge. So, the meat was done, I had some cheese shredded, I had sour cream, so burritos was going to be supper.
While the dough was resting, I fixed breakfast, let the kids eat and wash the dishes, then got them started on school. While they were doing school, I cooked the tortillas, peeled the eggs, made a big bowl of egg salad, fixed Dan's breakfast for tomorrow, and worked on the laundry. Then it was lunchtime.
By the time Dan got home from work, we had everything done. As we were eating dinner, one of the kids said, "Dad, will you take us to church tonight? We have to be there at 6:15". Turns out that today is the first day of the revival.
It's been a LONG day!
I'm so tired I can hardly lift my arms. I thnk I'll be going to bed early tonight.

I really need to scrub the bathroom. Cant work with him in there helping me:). I use the word "help" loosely. I promised Hailey we would have waffles, blueberry waffles. Now I have to get in the storeroom and see if I can find those jars of blueberry pie filling. Better get on it. Hope you have a "restful" day this day.

No rest for me again. I was going to go grocery shopping today, since Dan is taking my van to get the doors fixed tomorrow. After the house was clean and everyone was dressed to leave, I changed my mind. We did some school and ate lunch, then I changed my mind again and decided to go after all. It was 2:00 by the time we left.
I was making pretty good time, until I came out of Dollar General. I said hello to an elderly man and it was on! We ended up talking for over an hour (in the cold and rain) I really didn't mind so much. He was very interesting to talk to and I wasn't in a big hurry. I'm usually not.
I ended up getting every single thing on my list and more. I only paid full price for 3 items that I needed for 2 recipes and a telephone. I have such a hard time finding a good phone! They are made so poorly these days! I even tried the rentals from the phone company. I had 2 of those and they didn't hold up any better than the ones from the dollar store, so I returned them and cancelled my rental (and told them why). When I tried to put up my new phone, I broke the thing on the wall that holds it. Now I need a new one of those. dang.

We did school today and I cooked. Jennifer (dd), Jake (dgs), Ben (ds), and Nick (ds) were here for supper.
It was cold today. It started out rainy, but changed to snow for a little while. Then it quit and the sun came out. Still cold, though.
