I'm just being lazy today. I am fighting the urge to take a nap, but I'm not done teaching school yet (We still have another hour. ) There's a severe weather alert here - severe thunderstorms - but it's 75 degrees and sunny right now. I guess we'll see what happens. What are you doing today?

Same here Gayle,
I did get our beef from the butcher today, even though I just tossed the boxes in the chest freezer instead of organizing the meat.
Just having one of those days.

We had a lovely day, until about 3:15, then the sky opened. It thundered, lightninged (is that a word?), poured buckets and the wind howled! I don't know how much rain we got, but it filled the creeks to capacity. I thought it was going to flood, then it quit. Just like that. And the sun came back out.

I went to the pool with my girlfriend and then we went out for lunch. I talked to my sister for quite a while too.

We have a lovely afternoon yesterday at an outdoor 20th Century museum. Ron explained old farm equipment to the girls and we walked around old farmhouses, barns and even a 1930s store. The girls are excited to go back in the spring when it will be available to tour inside the buildings.
While Ron was explaining farm equipment, I told the girls, "Well, you can take the boy out of Iowa, but you can't take Iowa out of the boy." I could see the desire in his eyes to have land and get his tractor out here. It was quite endearing.
Today is beautiful already and I'm hoping to spend most of it outside.

A 20th Century museum. Wow. I feel like a relic!
Dan moved me to the city about a year after we met. I hated every minute of living there! When we finally moved back to the country, it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Farm living is the life for me!
I don't have anything planned for today. The kids are playing in the snow. I don't drive in bad weather, so I'm just messing around in the house. I might even have a nap. I'm not even going to cook supper tonight, because we have enough leftovers from last night. I don't often get 2 days off in a row. I'm kind of lost.

We grocery shopped, cleaned the house, and I did a load of clothes today.
I think my washer is broken - it doesn't agitate like it should. This happened before and all it needed was a ring-looking thing in the top of the agitator. It cost around $12 for the part and took about 5 minutes to fix, but I have to order the part from Sears. I'll have to dig out my owner's manual and get all the information before I call them. Their phone number and the number of the part are written in there (I wrote them down the last time, just in case)
I roasted 2 chickens for tomorrow's supper today. I don't like to cook on Saturday, so I cook ahead. I think we'll have a salad with them and probably some bread. I bought some celery and carrots, and I have some veggie dip in the refrigerator, so we might have some of that, too.

We had a small get-together for Ben's 18th birthday. Of course that was after I did all the cooking, made a cake, went to the store for his present (a cell phone), cleaned the house, and took a shower (not in that order)
It was his week for washing dishes, so he asked for paper plates for his birthday. LOL I got them, along with paper napkins and plastic cups. It made him happy.
