Aaaand Ben brought home a pork loin, so now that's in the oven. I'm going to have to rearrange the refrigerator yet again.

I made a batch of Space Food Sticks this morning. I make them into 1" balls, instead of logs. I've been wanting some. I make them with walnut butter, which I made a few days ago. I've already eaten 6 of them.
I've also been wanting HamBeans, so I am making a pot of those, too. I added diced potatoes, celery, and onion, and finely diced carrots. The beans are already pretty tender, but I want the broth to cook down some more. I prefer beans not too soupy.
I also made some Egg Bites. I've made them several times lately. They go fast!
Oh, and I made a small batch of pickled jalapenos - about 1 1/2 pints. I picked all the jalapenos I had and am trying a new recipe. I'll find out in a few days if they're any good. They had a 5 star rating, so I'm hoping.

Wow - You sure do make some unusual stuff! I have to say I've never heard of Space sticks or Egg Bites. I had to look that up on the internet. Not sure I would be brave enough to try a pickled jalapeno! Simple foods are my thing. Us northerners don't go much for the hot stuff. But the beans sound good. I often make beans that way.

I started making Space Food Sticks when the kids were little. They sell them commercially and the kids were begging for them, but they were too expensive for me to buy for 5 kids, so I learned to make them. Not only that, the homemade ones don't have all the chemicals and stuff that the commercially made ones have.
I did a lot of things like that so my kids wouldn't feel left out.
My mom made her beans with lots of vegetables, too.
I'm originally from Michigan and didn't grow up eating anything spicier than pizza, which was a special treat in our house. Every Saturday night Mom would order one and I'd go with Dad to pick it up. We all got one slice (Dad got 2) and we would fight over that little gob of cheese left in the middle of the box.
When the first Taco Bell opened near our house, everyone flocked to it. That's where I learned to eat spicy food. I can't eat it as spicy as I used to, but I still appreciate a little zing. I mostly add jalapenos to other things, so they're not so 'in your face'. Mostly I add them to the eggs when I make egg sandwiches.

I needed to make a new batch of taco seasoning today. I know that sounds simple enough, but I have 3 totes full of spices and, as long as I'm in there, I refill all the spice jars that are getting low. What should have been a 5 minute job ended up taking close to an hour. On the bright side, all the spice jars are full now and I have a big batch of taco seasoning.

Our pastor gave us a small deer he'd killed, back in January. We just had to get it processed. I got a couple packs of the cube steak out to thaw this morning. I'll cook them up in gravy, and probably make rice with it, and maybe cook some carrots, since I have a bunch. I've started cooking enough for 2 or 3 meals at a time lately, so we have plenty of leftovers for lunches and other suppers. Down to cooking 2 or 3 suppers a week, lately.

I cook big and freeze stuff in more reasonable portions. Everything in my freezers is cooked.
I made a turkey breast and ham for Easter, so I won't need to cook for a while. I made a layered salad, but put it in 2 smaller bowls. One is gone, so we have a whole one left. There's even a dozen deviled eggs left. The only thing we'll need is a starch. I think there's rice and cooked potatoes in the fridge, too. I should probably find another hobby.

Today I made a pizza pie. This one is in a 10" pan and it's 4 layers. Once that was in the oven, I started a batch of spaghetti sauce, using hamburger with onions and garlic that I had cooked and frozen (loose meat frozen on a tray, then scooped into a gallon ziploc, so I could take out as much as I wanted) I already have cooked noodles in the fridge, so we can have pizza or spaghetti (or any of the other half dozen cooked dishes already in there)

Just popping in to share.
My youngest (15) has been interested in cooking and baking, and it sounds like he's considering this as a career.
Last month, he took a four-day, online class where he made French desserts. I think I gained five pounds that week. 🤦🏻♀️
Today, he begins a follow up course - four more days of French desserts.
I will be making a lot of salad this week.

It would break my heart to have to eat French desserts everyday. LOL
